IT Essentials II: Network Operating Systems, sponsored by Hewlett-Packard
Company, is an intensive introduction to multi-user, multi-tasking network
operating systems. Characteristics of the Linux, Windows 2000, NT, and XP
network operating systems will be discussed. Students will explore a variety of
topics including installation procedures, security issues, back up procedures
and remote access.

IT Essentials I: PC Hardware and Software
IT Essentials I: PC Hardware and Software, sponsored by Hewlett-Packard Company,
presents an in-depth exposure to computer hardware and operating systems.
Students learn the functionality of hardware and software components as well as
suggested best practices in maintenance, and safety issues. Through hands on
activities and labs, students learn how to assemble and configure a computer,
install operating systems and software, and troubleshoot hardware and software
problems. In addition, an introduction to networking is included. This course
helps students prepare for CompTIA's A+ certification.

designed for students interested in the physical aspects of voice and data
network cabling and installation. The course focuses on cabling issues related
to data and voice connections and provides an understanding of the industry and
its worldwide standards, types of media and cabling, physical and logical
networks, as well as signal transmission.
